Journal 1

Growing up I used to love reading for fun, I guess when they start making me read for an assignment or grade made me dislike it more and more. Writing and reading connects so with me disliking reading a whole lot writing isn’t going to be something that I’m hell over heels for either. Unlike reading I never really like writing, I dislike topics that is given to write about, I dislike punctuation that’s need for certain parts in a paragraph and grammar that we have to use. I’m always on social media and maybe that’s my biggest problem. While I’m texting and on social media I always abbreviate so when it’s to time to write a paragraph for an assignment I stuck for about five to ten minutes. I’m not stuck because I don’t know how to write but I’m stuck because I don’t know where to start or what the topic is even asking me to write about. So the big transformation from high school writing to college writing was something I was to happy about. Especially after my first day in my ENC1101 class finding out that I have to write several different essays about “ARTIFACTS”!! Only because my prior knowledge about artifacts was basically stone age. Me learning that artifacts is something that I actually made myself made me realize that this topic isn’t that bad to write about. Even though I’m liking this topic doesn’t mean everything else will be easy so me and writing right now has a love and hate relationship.

Journal 4

The composition I choose for journal four is the movie White Chicks. The genre for this movie would be more so a comedy because it was a funny movie that caught their audience attention with funny aspects throughout the movie. Some people could argue that the movie wasn’t comedy because other genres fit with the movie like action and adventure. The movie plot was buildup of a lot of action but the action that was going on in the movie was more of a comedy rather than a thriller. So I would just consider the movie and comedy action movie. The audience for this movie would be teenagers however it can be argued that it was a movie geared towards families. Its either or because teens love comedy but adults do as well. The only reason the audience wouldn’t be family because it’s not appropriate for the generation under teens because its rated pg-13, not saying younger children hasn’t watch White Chicks before but the audience this composition was made for was ages range from 15-30 years. The purpose of the composition was to entertain. I say entertain because the movie wasn’t serious, romantic nor violence action, it was just a good funny entertaining movie.
